The announcement of a 1/48 scale Gundam sent ripples through the modeling community and now, verily, it has come to pass. Once assembled it will stand 36.5cm (almost 15 inches) tall, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of this monstrous kit is that you don't need any tools! That's right! The pieces attach to the runner by a very thin length of plastic so you can break the pieces off with your hands! To make things even easier, Bandai has made it so that you can snap two runners together and then remove the individual pieces. There are even icons on the runners to indicate which part of the kit the pieces are for. The 1/48 Gundam comes with two 1/48 beam sabers and his large (even larger now) beam rifle, and shield. There is even a mini-booklet from Dengeki Hobby with detailed modeling tips for this model! Don't be intimidated by its size, this kit is a snap-technology as well. The Nu Gundam Heavy Weapons System, from the CCA-MSV series of alternate versions of Mobile Suits from the film 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack', joins the HGUC lineup. Heavy Weapons System includes: additional armor for the Nu Gundam (chest, front and rear skirts, and large leg thruster units), a Hyper Mega Rifle, and a large shield with rocket launchers. Missile pod units on the chest armor pivot up and down. Fin Funnel unit can be disassembled into individual folding plates. Heavy Weapon System can be removed for display as a standard Nu Gundam. It includes Hyper Mega Rifle, large shield, beam rifle, Hyper Bazooka, normal shield, 2 beam sabers, and 6 Fin-Funnel plates.

• The GP-03S gets the MG treatment and as usual the results are superb. Includes a folding bazooka, beam rifle, beam saber and folding shield. The core fighter is detachable. 
  
• Armor is detachable to expose the skeleton and hydraulics. Like all the kits in the MG series, the level of detail is superb, and virtually everything moves.
